Recitals

Kate has been taking musics lessons over the past few months and had an end of the year recital in May. She played a major scale on the xylophone with a couple of her classmates. She did a great job and really enjoys her lessons.

Kate also took gymnastics classes. She improved a lot over the year and had a great time.

Spring!

With Kevin's new work schedule we have been better able to do fun things during the week on his days off. On this day we went to a new bounce house place that opened up in the area and there was not another soul there for the first hour. It was awesome. Blake didn't get run over by all the bigger kids and the kids could play on anything they wanted.

Blake really didn't want to go to bed one night a while ago. But, of course, we put him down anyway. When we went to check on him before we went to bed, this is what we found. He had pajamas on when we put him down. I guess this was his way of protesting going to bed.

Blake seems so have a knack for getting into mischief these days. I went down stairs and found he had colored all over the fire place tile and mantle. Luckily it was only pencils and came off the tile easily. But the mantle is another story. He is also rarely seen without his blanket (which is sadly not going to last much longer) and buzz and woody.

We made the trip to Lagoon this spring also. It was the kids first time. The weather was iffy so there were not many people there. The kids were able to walk onto most of the kids rides. Blake loved Puff and the train. We stayed until closing (which was only 7 because it was early in the spring before normal hours) but we missed getting on the last train. Blake was very upset and was yelling at us that he wanted to ride the train. Kate went on the new Bombora ride and loved it. She also loved The Bat and The Tidal Wave. And both kids loved the log ride. An oldy but a goody. We got soaked but they both wanted to go again.

There was a lot of snow this spring which lead to a lot of run-off when it warmed up. The creek in our backyard got pretty high. We could see the water from our second floor windows which we have never been able to do before. It was a little unnerving. Thankfully we didn't have any serious problems.

This is our neighbors backyard. That is ground water that seeped up and had no where to go.

We also got the kids a trampoline this spring. It has been so much fun. They love to jump with Kevin! He cleared out a nice little spot so it stays shaded all day. Jumping on a hot trampoline is no fun at all.

More Catching Up

Here are a few more pictures from last fall.

We finally made a trip to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. I have wanted to do this for a long time. It was pretty cold but the kids still had fun.

Blake had a lot of fun playing in the snow last winter. He especially loved to help shovel the drive way. Even thought the snow is all gone now, he still insists on wearing his Buzz Lightyear boots around the house.

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. We spent the day up in Idaho with family. Santa was very good to both the kids. And mom and dad!

We were able to go sledding a few times this winter. We went to Jolly's Ranch, Soldier Hollow, and the golf course in Spanish Fork. There was no shortage of snow!
