Catching Up: Part 1

I have been quite the slacker with the blog this summer. So I am going to try to catch up. We recently got a new computer so half the pictures from this summer are on it and the other half on the old computer. So I am posting pictures from events not necessarily in chronological order. Sorry. I'll try to get the rest of the pictures posted soon.

This September I ran my first marathon. It was so much fun! (I can say that now because enough time has gone by that I have forgotten how hard it was. It really was fun though!) I ran Top of Utah in Logan. There were six of us from my ward who all trained together. That is really what made it so much fun. (I am not sure why the date stamp is different, they were taken the same day.)

We also went on a trip to Bear Lake this summer. The kids had a GREAT time.
During out trip, we went up to Bloomington Lake. Neither of us had ever been there before. It was beautiful and cold.

Kate played soccer this summer with a bunch of girls from the nieghborhood. Since there were no boys on the team and their uniforms were purple, they called themselves the Purple Princesses. She had a lot of fun and even scored a goal during her last game. Yeah, Kate!

We also took the kids to the zoo this fall. It was fun to watch Blake. He was so excited by all the animals and couldn't get enough. The baby elephant was so cute! We even took the kids on the train.

These are a couple pictures of a hike we took up Mapleton Canyon. It is so nice to have such fun and beautiful trails so close.

Camping

A few weeks ago we took a short overnight camping trip with the kids. They had a great time! Blake loved exploring and Kate actually asked me if she could help wash the dishes after dinner. She did a really good job. Yeah! Here is a few pictures.

Blake was only happy if he could walk on his own. He didn't want any help and certainly didn't want to stop for pictures.

Kate, on the other hand, wanted to stop and take a picture at every large rock we saw. And we saw a lot on our hike.

Dance Recital

Kate had her first dance recital the first of this month. She did a wonderful job!
The theme for the recital was Holidays. Each class danced to music for a specific
holiday of the year. Kate's age had Christmas obviously. She is a snowman and there
were also christmas trees and jewels in her class. (She definitely had the cutest costume.)
The recital wasn't perfect but I think she had a good time. We were all tired by
the end of the night.
